⚡ Quick Answer: How Do You Ship a Car from Copart Overseas?

After you win a vehicle at Copart, All TransportDepot can arrange pickup from the Copart yard, move it to the export port or loading warehouse, coordinate title/export documentation and ship it internationally by container or eligible RoRo service. For accurate pricing, send the Copart lot number, VIN, buyer number, yard location, running condition and destination country/port. Non-running, salvage and damaged vehicles often need specialized pickup and container loading.

What We Need from Your Copart Purchase

Lot & Buyer Details

Send the Copart lot number, buyer number and yard location so pickup and release requirements can be checked.

VIN & Title Status

The VIN and ownership/title documents are essential for U.S. export. Salvage, rebuilt or pending-title vehicles should be disclosed before booking.

Vehicle Condition

Tell us whether the car runs, rolls, steers and brakes and whether it has collision, flood, fire, underbody or battery damage.

Copart Shipping Methods

Container Shipping

Common for salvage, non-running, damaged, luxury and EV vehicles. Warehouse loading allows forklifts, winches and other equipment where appropriate.

RoRo Shipping

Best suited to eligible vehicles that can start, steer and brake and meet the carrier’s terminal rules.

Door-to-Port Pickup

We can arrange transporter pickup directly from the Copart location and deliver the vehicle to the selected export terminal or warehouse.

What Affects the Cost?

Factor Why It Changes the Price
Copart yard location Distance to the export port or warehouse determines inland trucking cost.
Running condition Non-running vehicles may need winch service, forklift loading or special transport.
Vehicle size SUVs, trucks and oversized vehicles require more transport and ocean space.
Damage Severe collision, fire, flood or battery damage can limit carrier acceptance.
Destination Ocean freight and direct-service availability vary by country and port.
Storage deadlines Late pickup can create additional auction storage fees, so release timing matters.

How Copart Export Shipping Works

1. Win the Vehicle

Complete the purchase and make sure the vehicle is eligible for release.

2. Send Lot & Release Information

Provide the lot number, buyer number, VIN, yard and destination.

3. Arrange Pickup

We schedule a suitable transporter based on whether the vehicle runs and rolls.

4. Review Export Documents

Title and ownership documents are checked before export coordination.

5. Load for Ocean Shipping

The car is delivered to the terminal or warehouse for RoRo or container loading.

6. Sail & Release

The vehicle ships to the destination port where the importer completes customs and local release.

Special Handling for Salvage and EV Vehicles

Copart vehicles frequently have accident or mechanical damage. A vehicle listed as “Run and Drive” may still have structural, underbody, electrical or battery issues that affect ocean-carrier acceptance. For electric vehicles, battery condition must be disclosed accurately before pickup and booking.

Important: Send current photos and disclose fire, flood, battery or underbody damage. A damaged EV or heavily damaged vehicle may require carrier review or may not be accepted on a particular route.

See our electric and hybrid vehicle shipping page for EV-specific planning.
