RoRo Shipping to the Dominican Republic

Roll-on/roll-off service is designed for cargo that can be safely driven, rolled or handled onto the vessel. It can reduce container-loading work for eligible operable cargo, but acceptance depends on the carrier, dimensions, condition and destination.

Routing may use Santo Domingo or Caucedo. The confirmed booking determines the actual terminal, vessel, cutoff and sailing date.

RoRo Export Process

  1. Review cargo eligibility and dimensions.
  2. Compare available U.S. ports and sailing schedules.
  3. Coordinate pickup or terminal delivery.
  4. Submit title and export information before cutoff.
  5. Deliver cargo clean, empty and operable as required.
  6. Provide booking documents for destination clearance.

RoRo or Container?

RoRo generally suits operable rollable cargo. Container service may be better for non-running units, loose parts, higher-value cargo or consolidated shipments. We recommend the method around handling requirements, not only the headline rate.

Destination Responsibility

The consignee must confirm duties, permits, age restrictions, inspections and local clearance with a qualified broker. Carrier acceptance does not guarantee customs approval.

Can non-running machinery use RoRo?

Only sometimes and with advance approval. Specialized handling or container equipment may be required.

Can personal items stay inside a vehicle?

Do not assume so. Disclose contents and follow the carrier’s written instructions before delivery.
